Saturday 18/04/09 Killaloe
Length of boat trip: 0.0 hours
Motto of the day: A bright blue day, Ardnacrusha and the Lower Shannon to Limerick
The sun let us relish a extensive breakfast on the flybridge. Kevin arrives around midday and we drive together to Limerick, where we meet Pat who brings us on his boat to Ardnacrusha and Limerick. He shows us more than we have expected. Pat is a great man, deep-seated with his heart in this area of the Shannon! His knowledge of this part of the waterways is exceptional. Nature and every kind of livings things on and around the river, together with engineering and boating have a place in his mind and heart. He is not living at the river, he is living with the Shannon. It is a great honour for us that he has spent some hours with us. Many thanks!
Back at Killaloe we find 'Ocean Froggie' moored alongside and Noel welcomes us with a coffee. In the evening this bright day is topped with a dinner at Flanagan's together with Martina and Kevin, who has surprised us with the two tours of Ardnacrusha and Limerick. Many thanks again!
